We are very sad to learn of Polixeni Papapetrou's death. A major figure in Australian visual art, Papapetrou's work is featured in public gallery collections across Victoria as well as state gallery collections and the national gallery collection. Last year, Papapetrou was awarded one of Australia’s most prestigious photographic awards, the $30,000 William and Winifred Bowness Photography Prize. The PGAV extends our sincere condolences to Polixeni's family and to her many friends in the arts.
