We need your support to keep Victoria's public galleries strong & connected - today and for the future
At a time when Victoria’s public galleries face increasing pressure to do more with less, the role of the Public Galleries Association of Victoria (PGAV) has never been more critical.
Like a number of arts advocacy organisations and galleries, PGAV lost Creative Victoria funding this year. We are turning to our community of supporters to help raise $100,000 to sustain the work that underpins a strong, connected and resilient gallery sector.
Why Your Support Matters Now
PGAV is the peak body for Victoria’s public galleries. We work behind the scenes—and across the state—to strengthen the capacity of galleries so they can deliver inclusive, accessible and meaningful visual arts experiences for their communities.
From metropolitan centres to regional areas, public galleries are vital civic spaces. They foster creativity, support local artists, contribute to wellbeing, and drive cultural and economic activity. Your support ensures we can continue enabling this impact at scale.
How Your Donation Makes a Difference
Every contribution directly supports PGAV’s core work to build a sustainable and thriving sector. Your donation helps us:
· Deliver state-wide benchmarking and impact measurement, strengthening the evidence base that drives investment in galleries.
· Advocate effectively to government and philanthropy, ensuring galleries are recognised and supported as essential public infrastructure.
· Provide professional development, resources and advisory services that build workforce capability and sector resilience.
· Connect and support galleries through networks, collaborative initiatives and shared services that reduce costs and increase impact.
· Promote the value of public galleries to broader audiences, raising their profile and expanding their reach.
These are not abstract outcomes—they translate into stronger galleries, more inclusive programming and deeper community engagement across Victoria.
Small Gifts, Lasting Change
Whether you can give $25, $50 or $250, your donation contributes to a collective effort to sustain the infrastructure that supports every public gallery in Victoria.
Your Support is Tax Deductible
