Craft Victoria announces Bryony Nainby as new Executive Director

Wednesday May 8th, 2019

Bryony Nainby has been appointed as Executive Director of Craft Victoria.

The Board of Craft Victoria, Australia’s leading organisation representing craft and design practitioners, is pleased to announce the appointment of Bryony Nainby as its new Executive Director. Bryony will join Craft Victoria on full time basis from 13 June 2019.

Bryony is currently the Director of Benalla Art Gallery, one of Australia’s leading regional galleries.

Chair of Craft Victoria, Katrina Raymond, said the Board was delighted to have a person of Bryony’s experience and skills to lead the organisation as it approaches its 50th Anniversary celebrations in 2020.

“Bryony has worked across the visual arts and cultural sector for the past twenty years and has the skills, experience and knowledge to lead Craft into its 50th year and beyond as a leading Australian arts organisation, known for curatorial excellence”

Ms Nainby said she was excited to be leading Craft Victoria into its 50th year and beyond. “Craft Victoria plays a national role in promoting the importance of craft practice.

“I’ll be actively ensuring a high level of support for members at all stages of their careers, and championing the organisational focus on experimentation, risk-taking and conceptual aesthetic exploration.” Ms Nainby said.

The PGAV extends congratulations to Bryony and to Craft Victoria!
