After 38 years at the helm, Janine Barrand is stepping down as Director of the Australian Performing Arts Collection at Arts Centre Melbourne. Janine has decided to move onto the next phase of her professional career, confident that the Australian Performing Arts Collection is ready for the next exciting phase of its development, with the Australian Performing Arts Gallery and an expanded home for the Australian Music Vault now in the wings through the Reimagining Arts Centre Melbourne project.

“I have been committed to promoting the value and significance of Australia’s performing arts history and sharing these stories with audiences. Touring our Kylie on Stage exhibition throughout the Public Galleries Association of Victoria network was a real highlight.”

The Kylie on Stage exhibition was supported by Creative Victoria and travelled to Mildura Arts Centre, Geelong Gallery, Ararat Gallery TAMA and La Trobe Regional Gallery from 2017 to 2019. It was enjoyed by over 35,000 visitors.
