EXHIBITION HAMILTON Once Known

Once Known

7 Feb 2026 – 19 Apr 2026

Once Known brings together First Nation items from the Western District held in the Hamilton Gallery collection, many of which are marked by uncertainty around their origins, meanings, and acquisition. By acknowledging such ambiguity, this exhibition shines a light on the gaps and invites the community to reflect on the past and share information.

OPENING EVENT: Cultural Ceremony, Friday 13 February, 3pm at Hamilton Gallery

Image: Unknown artist, Coolamon (detail), 19th century, Western District, Victoria, wood. Unknown history.
