I'm a Believer confronts dismissive language surrounding chronic health issues through a darkly humorous lens. Ethically sourced letters, including those from medical professionals, are redacted, leaving traces of the original context and exposing delegitimising wording. The patient experience is laid bare, revealing subjective judgments within professional objectivity. The exhibition features Hamer’s first series of silkscreen prints and monoprints crafted from redacted letters and medical scans, alongside five new hand stitched works, exploring gendered language, access, and erasure.
