Kathy Luxford-Carr | Spirited Objects

28 Mar 2025 – 3 May 2025

“Spirit within objects comes from the artist. It flows ethereally through their hands, by thought and senses. It seems to be taken in by the objects they make, paint or carve.
To me, art takes on the spirit of the artist. So, what is spirit?
Is it the thought process behind the idea? Is it the torture we sometimes go through to make it? Is the artist's spirit embodied in the object making it original? We know each person's work by just looking at it. This is what fascinates me. It’s what you leave out that makes art interesting.”
