WAMA at Gariwerd is a bridge between nature and culture. Curated by Felicity Spear, Entanglements with Fungi: Life, Death and Renewal reflects on art, science, history and politics and explores the complexity and diversity of the fungus kingdom and its vital role in the survival of life.
The artists present new and intriguing ways to understand and imagine the remarkable organisms of the fungus kingdom. Fungi live everywhere, in water, on trees, in the soil, in the air – and on and in our bodies. Their relationships plays a vital role in the life of our planet – a planet where human influences are threatening the future of all life.
