Bloom: the colours of fragrance

4 Jun 2026 – 6 Sep 2026

Hume artist Ramneek Virk presents a highly coloured collection of new paintings, inspired by various exotic flowers.

Ramneek chooses to paint her floral subject matter in close focus, as if looking directly into the heart of each bloom. The resulting imagery is both emotionally charged and soft, as the viewer’s eye is taken deep into the folds of petals and contours of shifting shadowed colour.

Painted in the early morning hours, Ramneek’s practice is grounded in meditation and quiet observation. In this sense her artwork expresses reverence for nature; each image conveying a sense of homage to its intimate subject matter.

Ramneek describes her artwork as a ‘form of homecoming’, drawing a line of connection between her family heritage, deep love of nature and strong desire to communicate with others through the emotional energy of painting.
