In Between Worlds of Deaf and Hearing

Artist Chelle Destefano says, “During Covid lockdown, I started unpacking my Deaf identity and took a real close look at what was really happening in my Deaf world personally and how I relate to the communities including Deaf and hearing. I realised there was much audism happening to the Deaf and I had many experiences of this all throughout my life. My short performances highlight the difficulties we experience and that we have a long way to go bringing awareness.”
