Vernon Systems has more than 30 years’ experience in creating software for the museum, gallery and cultural heritage sectors. Our systems are used around the world by institutions to catalogue, manage and publish information about collections.

We develop two products: Vernon CMS is a modular desktop package designed to manage all types of collections within one comprehensive collection management system; eHive is a simple to use web-based cataloguing system which includes built-in options to publish to WordPress websites and partner websites.

SERVICES

Consultancy
Since 1985 Vernon Systems has been actively working to improve technical and procedural collection management in museums. Along the way, we have worked through many projects. We offer consultancy to save you time in finding the best way to achieve your collection management goals.

Customisation
It is possible for Vernon Systems to develop customised data entry windows. These present only those fields relevant to your needs in the sequence and layout which best suits you for entering and viewing the records. We can also build customised reports, email templates and calculated display fields.

Data Audits
Ongoing maintenance includes periodically checking you collection data for issues such as duplicate records, field usage and data inconsistencies. Our team can undertake thorough reviews of your existing data. We supply an expert independent assessment and recommendations for improving your data.

Data Migration
Our team of specialists have the tools and experience to efficiently import your legacy data. We can migrate your data into a new copy of Vernon CMS or eHive and can also import additional data into your system at any time.

System Upgrades
Vernon CMS annual support agreements give you access to major upgrades and minor updates. Each upgrade comes with step-by-step installation instructions and on call technical support. We also offer the option of connecting to your server to remotely upgrade your software to the latest version of Vernon CMS.

Training
Training is essential to allow staff to make the most out of our products. Our team of professional trainers include former museum and gallery professionals who are experienced in the implementation of collection management software, and well versed in wider collection documentation issues such as data and procedural standards.
