TarraWarra International 2026: System Release

21 Mar 2026 – 5 Jul 2026

TarraWarra International 2026: System Release brings together ten artists from Aotearoa/New Zealand, Australia and Mexico who engage with global precarity to create new systems of order across diverse media. The exhibition proposes order as a form of friendship with chaos, presenting personal and collective strategies for navigating a rapidly changing world. Responding to recent global events that have exposed the fragility of civic systems, the exhibition challenges assumptions around a “rules-based order,” framing collapse as a release that opens space for alternative systems of knowledge. Grounded in First Nations thinking, posthumanism, collective intelligence and more-than-human worldviews, System Release invites audiences to imagine new ways of being and organising together.
