EXHIBITION KINGSTON Take you to the beach

Take You to The Beach

29 May 2024 – 29 Jun 2024

In this exhibition, artist John Quinn responds to the local bayside beach environment, the reefs, rockpools, sands and tides. This body of work celebrates Port Phillip Bay, an eco-system rich in surprises.

ARTIST STATEMENT
I visit most days and slow down for a couple of hours. I am concerned with the aesthetic of the works in my interpretation of these local treasures.” - John Quinn

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Quinn has been producing paintings and prints for many years now. He enjoys creating landscape based imagery for his base inspiration. Quinn enjoys using flowing lines and his local bay areas have plenty of them. Some images start as a mono print base to open dialogue with the works.

This exhibition has been developed with assistance from Kingston Arts Centre through the Individual Artist Grant Funding 2023.
