Explore a new exhibition in Kingston’s lightboxes of near and distant landscapes. Captured by local photographers Josephine Cole, Matt Harvey, Andrew Paranavitana, and Gigi & Robin Williams. Featuring saltwater scenes across Bunurong Boon wurrung Country, at Kingston’s Mordialloc Pier, and elsewhere on Port Philip Bay at Dromana Pier. This is contrasted against the freshwater of Russell Falls in lutruwita (Tasmania), and swirling waters in the Gariwerd (Grampians). Alongside these are the bright pink salts of Lake Tyrell in the Mallee region on the lands of the Boorong people, glistening against the salt and sand formations of Lake Mungo, of Southern Paakantyi/Barkindji people. Closer to home are the rocks atop Mt Donna Buang in Healesville, on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country, and sunset depicted over the nearby sandstone cliffs of Half-Moon Bay, back on Bunurong Boon wurrung Country.

Matt Harvey is a Melbourne-based commercial photographer whose personal work delves into the subtle textures of landscapes, small-town curiosities, and overlooked places. Drawn to scenes that often go unnoticed, his photography captures the subtle drama and evolving character of the natural and built environments. Matt is fascinated by the way light, weather, and time shape a place — always searching for that fleeting moment when composition and atmosphere align. www.mattharveyphoto.com
