Plastic Problems is a collaborative exhibition that celebrates the meeting of Bayley Arts artists and environmental activist and artist Carolyn Cardinet. This process driven exhibition commenced in 2023 when a select group of artists with intellectual disability engaged with Cardinet to understand the environmental impacts of plastic pollution on our local shorelines and vulnerable marine life. Through weaved formations, printmaking, photography, film and letter-writing, Plastic Problems takes you on the artists’ journey.
Plastic Problems intertwines the themes of art, disability, and climate action. The exhibition aims to inspire audiences to contemplate the impact of their actions whilst on the Bay, emphasizing proactive solutions and responsible waste management.
