Pink puffs upon billowed checks & spotted mossy smudges by Fiona Cabassi

27 Aug 2025 – 4 Oct 2025

pink puffs upon billowed checks & spotted mossy smudges is a playful, immersive environment. Created from numerous painted paper cuts that entwine upon the walls and cascade from the ceiling to spread upon the floor, this site-specific installation refers to the purpose of the building – a theatre - a place that can transport the audience from the everyday.

Akin to the intention of the installation, which invites the viewer to enter a portal into an imaginative world, and discover characters enmeshed in poetic, colourful scenes that unfold throughout the gallery space, engulfing the viewer in a labyrinthine world.

The installation is accompanied by an immersive soundscape, created in response to the work, by sound designer and digital artist Anna Tow.
