PGAV Submission - GROWING THE INDIGENOUS VISUAL ARTS INDUSTRY

Friday February 12th, 2021

The PGAV met with our members in January to prepare a submission to the Australian Government's Growing the Indigenous Visual Arts Industry consultation. Feedback to the consultation will inform the development of a National Indigenous Visual Arts Action Plan and guide future government support. Our submission includes 7 recommendations for inclusion in the Action Plan, including sustainable employment of First Nations arts workers at public galleries; increasing opportunities for First Nations visual artists; and the digitisation and conservation of First Nations cultural materials in public gallery collections
