Following the success of its inaugural edition, Melbourne Sculpture Biennale returns in October 2026 with Soft Systems, bringing together twenty leading contemporary artists for an exhibition of site-responsive sculpture and installation at Billilla Mansion in Brighton.
Melbourne Sculpture Biennale 2026: Soft Systems considers the complex and interconnected systems that shape contemporary life. The participating artists present diverse approaches to critically examining these systems and their impact on people, culture and the environment.
Artists: Andrew Atchison, Lauren Berkowitz, Francis Carmody, Mikala Dwyer, Hannah Gartside, Mira Gojak, Bronwyn Hack, Naoise Halloran-Mackay, Lou Hubbard, Kait James, Christopher Langton, Jenna Mayilema Lee, Chris Madden, Beth Maslen, Glenda Nicholls, Nabilah Nordin, Nicholas Smith, Sebastian Temple, Isadora Vaughan and Paul Yore.

The Public Galleries Association of Victoria (PGAV) acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the lands where our office is located, and all Traditional Owners of country throughout Victoria and Australia.
