The Hellenic Museum is Australia’s only museum dedicated to showcasing the transformational power of Greek art, history and culture.
Science, politics, philosophy and democracy are just some of the gifts the ancient Greeks gave the world. At the Hellenic Museum, discover that these are not dead concepts or stale history lessons, but a live framework for progressive thought.
Experience 8,000 years of Greek civilisation from Neolithic treasures to bold contemporary art. Old and new collide in eight exhibitions across two floors of the former Royal Mint building, including Gods, Myths & Mortals from the Benaki Museum, Athens, photography by Bill Henson, a collection of genuine Olympic torches, and more.
The themes explored in these exhibitions are enhanced by a robust calendar of public programs and events, including the popular Summer Cinema, theatre, live music, school holiday workshops and lectures

The Hellenic Museum is located in the Former Royal Mint Building at the top end of William Street. The Hellenic Museum is right in the heart of the law district of the Melbourne CBD and a stone's throw from the Queen Victoria Market.
Transportation Options
There are a number of transport options available to visit the Hellenic Museum.
If you’re planning your visit via train, Flagstaff station is located directly opposite the museum. The Route 58 tram stops directly outside the museum on William Street and the number 30 and 35 tram stops are the corner of La Trobe and William streets.
Paid parking is available next to the Hellenic Museum in the Mint car park. Taxi and Uber drop-off points are located right out the front of the museum on William Street.
