Communicating complex ideas in meaningful ways is critical to engaging audiences for the visual arts. In this short course you will learn how to write content for a wide range of purposes using Plain English.
The session will include presentations by Mark Orlandi, Marketing & Audience Engagement Officer at Bendigo Art Gallery who will discuss the gallery's approach to social media, and Kate Ryan, the Truby and Florence Williams Curator of Children’s Programs at the National Gallery of Victoria, who will discuss creating content specifically for younger audiences and families; as well as a practical Plain English workshop facilitated by Andrew Pegler of Andrew Pegler Media. The session will include a tour of the exhibition New Histories in which contemporary artists re-imagine historic works from Bendigo Art Gallery's collection.
This session will be relevant for Directors, Curators, Public Programs, Education and Marketing staff at public galleries. Don’t miss this opportunity to hone your communication skills and better engage with your audiences.
Registrations close Monday 9 April 2018 at 12 noon.
