GALLERY DEAKIN HERO

An exciting venue for the University's program of exhibitions and arts events. These include curated exhibitions drawn from the University's art collection, group and solo exhibitions by significant contemporary Australian artists, travelling exhibitions and selected student, staff and alumni work.

In addition to our vibrant and diverse exhibition program, we also offer a range of public and education programs across our venues. These include floor talks, panel presentations and seminars, guided exhibition and collection tours, behind-the-scenes industry context presentations and hands-on workshops. All programs are FREE of charge and can be tailored to suit your school's or group's needs and/or interests.

Please visit the Deakin University Art Gallery website for a complete listing of current and future exhibitions and for further information regarding education and public programming.

Permanent Collection

The Deakin University Art Collection is made up of close to 3000 artworks, 56% of which are displayed across all five campuses.

The extensive collection includes paintings, prints, drawings, ceramics, artist’s books, photographs and sculpture. Most works are contemporary in nature by leading Australian artists.

Online Collection

The Deakin University Art Collection is now searchable online, recently launched in celebration of Deakin’s 50th Anniversary. You can access this wonderful resource here.

To make it easier for students, researchers and general public to access our collection, we have published seven FREE audio-visual guides via izi.TRAVEL website and app.

These self-guided tours include four outdoor Sculpture Walks (Burwood, Geelong Waterfront, Waurn Ponds and the Andrew Rogers Campus Collection at Burwood) and three Art Collection Tours (Deakin Downtown, Warrnambool, and Waurn Ponds Estate).

To access any of the aforementioned guides, download the free app (available on any mobile platform), or go to https://izi.travel/en/c596-deakin-university-art-collection-and-galleries/en

Browse our virtual reality tours of past exhibitions via our website here, digital catalogues, accessible via Issuu here, and our recently launched online gallery space here
