Creative State - PGAV & NETS Victoria Consultation

6 Aug 2024 – 7 Aug 2024

PGAV and NETS Victoria invite you to take part in consultation for Victoria's next Creative State strategy. We are seeking your ideas on the actions, investments and initiatives that the Victorian Government can provide to strengthen and sustain Victoria's public galleries - including visual arts touring.

We will be holding dedicated online sessions for Regional Galleries, Metropolitan Galleries and for First Nations Visual Arts Workers (including public gallery staff and independent visual arts workers) on Tuesday 6 & Wednesday 7 August 2024.

The information provided through this consultation will directly inform PGAV and NETS Victoria's submission to the Victorian Government.

Please note, we will be using AI to transcribe the consultation sessions for the sake of expediency and to identify key themes. All information and statements from these sessions will be de-identified in our submission for Creative State.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
For the Regional and Metropolitan Gallery sessions: public gallery directors and staff involved in key areas of gallery practice including curatorial, exhibitions, collection management, education, public programs etc.

For the First Nations Visual Arts Workers session – First Nations staff at public galleries and independent First Nations visual arts workers.  The session will be facilitated by Isobel Morphy-Walsh, First Nations Engagement Coordinator, NETS Victoria - a proud Nirim Baluk Woman from the Tuan Wurrung (Taungurung) people, with Anne Robertson from PGAV and Claire Watson from NETS Victoria in attendance.

WHAT WILL BE COVERED
We will be sending a list of questions in advance of the session to help direct the conversation. But generally speaking, we will be seeking your ideas on the current state of public galleries and visual arts touring, what your needs are, and what investments and initiatives you need to thrive into the future.
