The Central Goldfields Art Gallery is situated in the picturesque historic fire station built in 1861, a short walk from the CBD.

The gallery is the home of the Golden Textures acquisitive textile art exhibition. Featuring outstanding art quilts from all over Australia. The gallery also showcases local talent in the eagerly anticipated annual VCE Art and Design and Community Art exhibitions.

Central Goldfields Art Gallery has recently launched its permanent collection online on the Google Arts & Culture platform, to view and explore the collection click here.

Central Goldfields Art Gallery is currently undergoing a redevelopment and will reopen Winter 2022. This investment is described as a transformational project in Council’s Tourism and Events Strategy 2020–2025 and will take the Gallery to the next level. Permanent Collection

The Central Goldfields Art Gallery growing collection includes the works by artist of regional and national significance. Recent acquisitions include works by Dean Bowen, Arthur Boyd, Ray Crooke, Renee Gray, Pro Hart and Jeff Makin.
