Creativity requires vulnerability, innovation, energy, and commitment. Self-care is essential in this, but is often easier said than done. Through these unprecedented times, galleries have been supporting staff, artists and audiences remotely and in-person. In Victoria, the unique combination of bushfires, followed by a lengthy lockdown and ongoing restrictions as a result of COVID-19 continue to impact mental health and wellbeing across the sector.
The Arts Wellbeing Collective promotes positive mental health and wellbeing across the industry and would like to share prevention-focused and evidence-based tips, informed by contemporary research into workplace mental health, organisational development, and extensive sector knowledge. This workshop aims to raise awareness of the importance of good mental health, addressing barriers to self-care and sharing tools and techniques for addressing these barriers.
