ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Danielle BRUSTMAN
Melbourne-based designer Danielle Brustman works with a rich syntax of colour to conceive works that challenge our perception of private and public space. Danielle’s work encompasses a broad spectrum of practice, from residential interiors and commercial design for the hospitality, education and retail sectors along with furniture and lighting design for exhibition. Danielle’s work has been presented at the National Gallery of Victoria, Rigg Design Prize (2018), NGV Triennial (2020), Melbourne Now (2023), Melbourne International Arts Festival (2012), Salon Del Mobile, Local Milan, Milan (2019), Sophie Gannon Gallery: Designwork 04, (2020,2024) & Melbourne Design Week (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024).
Anthony FITZPATRICK
Anthony Fitzpatrick is a curator and writer. Since joining TarraWarra Museum of Art in 2011, he has curated numerous solo and group exhibitions and has written essays for a range of publications. Recent exhibitions include SUPERsystems: Peter Atkins and Dana Harris, Peter Booth, Heather B. Swann: Leda and the Swan, and Sidney Nolan: Myth Rider. Prior to joining TarraWarra he held public gallery positions at Maroondah Art Gallery and the Cunningham Dax Collection.
Noè HARSEL
Noè Harsel is an arts producer, executive leader, writer and podcaster whose work spans cultural storytelling, community engagement and strategic leadership. Currently Museum Director & CEO of the Jewish Museum of Australia, Noè has developed impactful exhibitions and programs that connect diverse audiences and foster dialogue around identity, culture and history. She has written for publications including Melbourne Magazine, Broadsheet and AFI Magazine on topics spanning architecture, art and cultural studies, while her current podcast, Like Us, produced in partnership with SBS, dives into conversations about race, identity and culture. Born in the US and raised in Melbourne, Noè’s heritage – Japanese, Jewish, Polish, and Russian – enriches her perspective and informs her work.
Hamish SAWYER
Hamish Sawyer is a curator and writer, whose practice is informed by close collaboration with artists. He is currently the Curator of Linden New Art, St Kilda. Prior to joining Linden, he was the Artistic Director of NorthSite Contemporary Arts, Cairns and has held programming and management roles at OuterSpace, Caloundra Regional Gallery. Queensland Art Gallery / Gallery of Modern Art and the Institute of Modern Art. Hamish has written for publications including Art Monthly, ArtLink and VAULT, as well as contributing to monographs on contemporary Australian artists including Michael Cook, Sam Cranstoun, Laith McGregor, Sandra Selig and Marian Tubbs and collection publications for Rockhampton Museum of Art and Australian Catholic University.
