The Australian Museums and Galleries Association Victoria (AMaGA Victoria) and the Public Galleries Association of Victoria (PGAV) are excited to present the 2023 Victorian Museums and Galleries Awards.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the prestigious Victorian Museums and Galleries Awards. Since its inception, this annual event recognises outstanding achievements within the Victorian museum, gallery, and community collecting sector.

In 2023, the Victorian Museums and Galleries Awards will take on a fresh look and feel as a result of a new partnership between AMaGA Victoria and PGAV. The two organisations have collaborated on a new visual design and renewed Awards categories to recognise and commend diversity and innovation within the sector.

Nominations are now closed.

2023 AWARDS CATEGORIES

The Victorian Museums and Galleries Awards recognise and celebrate excellence across the sector. They seek to reward presenting and collecting organisations and the individuals who support and strengthen Victoria’s creative and cultural industries through outstanding work and a commitment to best practice.

This year, we will be presenting a total of 11 awards to individuals and organisations who have made exceptional contributions to their field. There are four individual awards and seven project-based awards. We encourage everyone to consider nominating themselves or their peers for these prestigious awards.

Three of the Awards are generously supported by industry sponsor Archival Survival*.
