The Sun at Midnight

The Hellenic Museum’s latest exhibition The Sun at Midnight is a contemporary art exhibition which features the works of five Australian artists: Ann Debono, Rob McLeish, Stephen Benwell, Grace Wood and Ngilan Margaret Dodd. Individually, these works may not immediately evoke Hellenic influence, but thoughtfully curated together in the heart of the Hellenic Museum, they reveal a common thread of motifs and principles that speak to the ongoing influence of Hellenic art.

This exhibition has been curated by Adam Stone, founder-director of Melbourne’s LON Gallery in collaboration with the Hellenic Museum, and is the inaugural exhibition of the Hellenic Museum’s Contemporary Art Space. This new, dedicated contemporary gallery will host rotational exhibitions that invite viewers to consider their personal and shared connection to the Hellenic legacy.
