EXHIBITION WANGARATTA Petite Miniature Textiles

Petite Miniature Textiles 2024

27 Apr 2024 – 23 Jun 2024

One of Wangaratta Art Gallery’s most popular exhibitions, Petite Miniature Textiles 2024 showcases innovative textile practice from across Australia, in small scale. The biennial exhibition brings together a diversity of artists and approaches which extend textile practice and inquiry.

This year works included in Petite have been selected by Guest Curator, artist and previous Petite exhibitor, Susie Losch and Wangaratta Art Gallery Director Rachel Arndt around the theme 'of the times'. Featuring 30 works by 22 artists from across the country, the exhibition explores a multitude of contemporary concerns from artificial intelligence to affordable housing.

Petite Miniature Textiles 2024 features new work by artists Gillian Bencke, Laura Bishop, Fleur Brett, Avrille Burrows, Laura Canty, Nicole Clift, Lucia Dohrmann, Fiona Gavens, Amanda Ho, Judy Hooworth, Sara Lindsay, Deborah McHugh, Penny Meddings, Kate Mitchell, Misako Nakahira, Mardi Nowak, Grace Pundyk, Janita Ryan, Andrea Shaw, Kate VM Sylvester, Carmel Wallace and Melinda Young.
