Lisa Byrne is the Executive and Artistic Director at McClelland Sculpture Park + Gallery with a collection of 2500 artworks and over 25 staff. McClelland, set on 16 hectares of Australian bushland, consists of a brutalist-styled main gallery building, education pavilion, original 1930s art studio, café and design store with an onsite residential residency and music program. 

Lisa, an arts leader with almost 30 years of experience, has developed the reputation of McClelland as the leading sculpture gallery and museum in Australia with a unique, multifaceted arts and cultural agenda.  

Prior to joining McClelland, Lisa was Director of the Monash University, Faculty of Art and Design Gallery and Canberra Contemporary Art Space. 

Lisa has completed the Gordon Darling Museums Leadership Program and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) company directors course.  She holds Honours in Art History and Theory from the University of Sydney, a BA in Art History and Philosophy from Australian National University, and a Bachelor of Education in Teaching and Learning from the University of New South Wales.
