Dunja Rmandić (pron. Dünya R-man-ditch) is a curator, writer and arts leader with over twenty years' experience across the not-for-profit, public, commercial and artist-run gallery sectors. She has worked in both metropolitan and regional contexts, bringing broad perspective to her practice.
Dunja joined Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery (MPRG) as Curator Exhibitions in 2023 and was appointed Gallery Director in October 2024. Prior to this, she spent seven years at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, where she held roles including Associate Curator 21st Century Art and Acting Curator International Art. During this time, she led and contributed to a wide range of projects spanning commissions, exhibitions, collection development and multi-arts performances.
A fierce advocate for contemporary creative cultures, Dunja's work focuses on making exciting ideas expressed through art more accessible to a wider public.
Earlier in her career, she was Curator of Collections at Devonport Regional Gallery, Tasmania (2013–2015). She has also worked extensively in commercial and public galleries in Melbourne and Sydney since completing a Masters in Art Curatorship in 2007.
Dunja has held key governance and sector roles, including serving on the board of Kings ARI while undertaking independent curatorial projects. Most recently, she was a board member of Spaced (WA), a peer reviewer for Creative Australia - including for the 2026 Venice Biennale selection panel - and a participant in the Creative Australia Arts Leaders program (2022-2023).
