Evoking memory, belonging, and what he terms ‘drift’, Weir’s works act as nets to catch the cosmic energy of the universe.
We encounter each of his wonderous paintings as a symphony of radiant colours and shimmering surfaces, that seem to beckon us near.
Lunar Paintings is the South Gippsland artist’s first major exhibition in Australia, having established a cult following through Europe over the past decade. Once seen, these arresting representations of dreams, longing and desire are not easily forgotten.
