Robert Salzer Foundation Acquisition Fund
The Robert Salzer Foundation Acquisition Fund assists with the acquisition of visual art by eligible members of the Public Galleries Association of Victoria (PGAV). Funding is provided by The Robert Salzer Foundation and is administered by the PGAV.
The Fund provides up to 50% of the purchase price of a two-dimensional work of visual art. To be eligible applicants must be a member of the PGAV; receive Operational Funding from Arts Victoria; have Deductibale Gift Recipient status; and provide the remaining 50% of the purchase price.
The Robert Salzer Foundation Acquisition Fund has enabled public galleries across Victoria to purchase significant works of visual art for their collections.
In 2011 the Fund assisted the following acquisitions:
Darren Slyvester’s photographic print “Our Future Was Ours” has been acquired by Horsham Regional Art Gallery with the support of the 2011 Robert Salzer Foundation Acquisition Fund.
Ararat Regional Art Gallery – Untitled (Cape Flat / Kape Shack) a pandanus “gift mat” by Newell Harry;
Geelong Gallery – Ocean blue, Lorne oil on canvas by Arthur Streeton;
Gippsland Art Gallery – The New Colony a landscape painting by Peter Daverington;
Horsham Regional Art Gallery – Our Future Was Ours photographic inkjet print by Darren Sylvester;
Monash Gallery of Art – a series of six photographs Volkswagen 1-3 and Cars at night 1-3 by David Moore;
Shepparton Art Museum – Native Blood photographic series by Fiona Foley and Unwritten #3 charcoal and acrylic on canvas by Vernon Ah Kee;
Wangaratta Art Gallery – Book of Miracles (Take 3) by Dani Marti.
